Before moving to the north coast 22 years ago, Wendy Grace lived in Sydney where she sang and played music for many years. She recorded her first album of original songs for Alberts Music at the age of 18 backed by Sydney band Crossfire, made regular appearances on tv, did gigs around Sydney and worked as a session singer. Wendy also toured Australia with Lorraine Silk as Ry Cooder’s support act.
More recently she has been enjoying running singing groups in the rainbow region, where, as we all know, interesting things still happen! She was asked by local film director Belinda Chayko to assist veteran English actor John Hurt with a song he needed to learn for his part in locally made film ‘Lou’.
With true community spirit, Wendy Grace’s two enthusiastic singing groups from Uki and Tumbulgum come together as The Misty Mountain Singers for a special Ukitopia performance, to celebrate the joy of singing fabulous songs.
