Uki Public School Concert Band was formed in 1994 and has since developed the talents of hundreds of students. The band plays at a variety of school and community functions and was recently awarded 3rd place in the Murwillumbah Festival of Performing Arts.
Uki Public School Choir enjoys rehearsing and performing together. In 2007, 2008, 2011, 2012 and 2013 they sang in the Concert Hall of the Sydney Opera House. The choir sings a wide variety of choral styles and loves to include choralography to their performance. They were recently awarded 1st Place in the Murwillumbah Festival of Performing Arts Small Schools Choir Competition.
Uki Public School Sydney Choir performed at the Sydney Opera House in October this year. The choir has had a wide range of performance opportunities from the Concert Hall of the Opera House to the Tyalgum Festival of Classical Music and many stages in between. At the 2013 Murwillumbah Festival of Performing Arts, they were a part of a combined choir that was awarded the prestigious Harry Postema Memorial Trophy for 1st Place in the Primary School Choir Section.
The Whopping Big Band was established in 1994 as part of the Murwillumbah Primary School Band Program and has performed at many community functions each year since then. The band plays big band, swing, jazz, funk, blues and rock music. A number of the members are Uki locals who love to join with other musicians to develop their skills and entertain our community. The band is directed by Ms Martha Baartz.
