Kathy Egan

After completing studies in Fashion and Textile Design, Kathy worked in Costume for Opera, Theatre and Film in Australia, New Zealand and the UK. During her travels in South East Asia, Kathy discovered the traditional techniques of weaving, dyeing and print application by cultural minority groups. This experience along with a passion for sustainability and fair trade led Kathy to launch her own design business “Oiko – Handmade Textiles” in 2005. Motherhood has brought business activities closer to home and shaped a new direction in supporting the growth of the arts in our local community as co-founder of creative collective Hey Maker!
